Random Thoughts

I really do not want to sound completely random, yet I can't figure out the directions of my thoughts.
Random thought #1:So my brother started blogging today. He's a very deep thinker and I'm sure you'll see the originality and depth of his thoughts in the first blog post he got the courage to upload, so you can check it out at fikayofk.blogspot.com.

Random thought #2: It amazes me how the strange things going on in this world. I saw a movie that starred a 26 year old lady that had Parkinson's disease. It was a disturbing sight. Anyways, point is I need to know if there's anything in this world that is more painful than seeing that you have your hands and can't make use of them just because they are shaking. Wouldn't it be easier to accept that the hands are not even there at all. #justsaying

I think I'll just stop rambling at this point and try to gather my thoughts.

TGIF in advance people. Looking forward seriously to the upcoming elections this weekend. Hope it will end up being as peaceful as we hope.

Is it me or something is not right?

First, TGIF!!! I had an awesome week, though my lectures were definitely over killing, but no pain, no gain, right?

Something bothers me though and I don't think it's normal. Over the past weeks, say 2 or 3 weeks, it's like more people have died than the whole of the 21st century and no, I'm not trying to crack or anything.

First, my Head of Department; then a couple of 'celebrities',I think about three of them, then this man from church and then the little baby that was swallowed by a python(really, is that scary or what?) and just today, some girl in a reality show that I didn't watch(Koko Mansion) died.

I'm sure there are even some others I don't know about, but this is some really petrifying stuff. I guess it might all be coincidental, but even if it is, the incidents are happening at a really alarming rate and I hope it stops soon because I'm not sure I will be able to stand this any longer.

At times like this, all  we need to do is look up to God and mend our ways. If there's anybody you have issues with, sort it out because tomorrow is unknown and though I don't pray for any other person to die, we need to plan ahead always.

On a lighter note, I'm hopeful for a beautiful weekend, not because I don't have things to do; as a matter of fact, I have three assignments due next week, but because I have people I love around me and we have loads of girly stuffs to do.

On that note, Happy weekend everyone.

Sometimes God doesn't give what you think you want. Not because you don't deserve it, but because you deserve more.

HOT OR NOT?

Now, usually, I don't write like this, but I have so much time on my hands right now and recently, I came across this blog and the writer (obviously a female) mentioned Michael Ealy and Keziah Jones(never heard about him and he is a Nigerian) as her ideals for male hotness. I got curious and "googled" these guys and seriously, I wasn't impressed. Not like they are bad looking guys or anything, it's just that they didn't strike me as hot. This then led to the question "How do you describe the hotness of a person?"

Against my usual self, I tried to ask google.com the question and I came about some obvious answers. Most girls talked about height(about 6 ft), green or blue eyes, not long, but dark hair(not necessarily black), biceps of course, most definetely not fat and a gentleman.

Many of the girls said something about Taylor Lautner's hair and of course, I "googled" that too and I must say I'm very impressed. His hair is beautiful(you can google that yourself. Unfortunately, you hardly find Africans with blue or green eyes and Taylor Lautner's hair, so bringing it to the home front, the girls love the guys on skin cut(I think that's what it's called) like Victor Valdes.

On the other hand, the guys seem to think that being hot is way different from being pretty. In the words of a guy, "Pretty and hot are different. Being hot is more about the body and being pretty is more about the face". So, maybe we can say nice hair, nice legs(without strands of hair sticking out of them), great body and skin and a little of the face will do hot.

What  then is the conclusion of the matter? I guess I want to say that "hotness or not" is subjective. What's hot to me might be "blah" to another person. As the saying goes, one man's meat is another man's poison, but someone can dispute the statement by saying "One man's meat can be another man's fish and another man's tofu and yet another man's eggs, it only depends on how you see it"

Since I can't seem to come to a conclusion, I will like to ask the question all over again, How would you descibe "Hotness or Not"

Highlights

Even though Friday is already over, I still want to say  TGIF. Not because I had anything in particular that I did this week, but because this week was full of ups downs and maybe even centres.

Sunday: After I had to travel on our very painful roads for about three hours, I had this very bad fall that made me wonder for a split second if I was paralysed (you do not want to know the details), but thank God, I was able to still use my legs.

Monday to Thursday: Very simple summary; a combination of frustration, constant exposure to the sun and of course, wasted efforts at different endeavors, lack of communication(I still can't believe I didn't have access to a phone for four whole days), hunger-not because there was no food, bit there were far more important things at stake that made food look like nursery rhymes, bad movies and lots more.

Well, just in case you are wondering about Friday, the week ended first with a bad novel (I mean it should probably have never been published at all), and no, I won't mention the book and finally, a bad movie. I don't even know which one ticks me off the most. I was trying to end the week on a good note, but these two things just killed it.

I miss my family. I know it's just been a week since I left home, but I miss them already and oh, my brother's birthday is on Monday. Yay!!! Party all the way (hmmm, you wish!!!)

Just so you know, for every five thoughts that run through my head, three out of it has to do with a particular character in the book I read. At the end of the day, I think I might need exorcism. Seriously.

Okay, enough whining. Even in all of these, I'm grateful to God. I couldn't have gone through this week without the assurance that He was there and even though I was frustrated, I still had enough strength to keep going. Big ups to God.

So much has happened in these last few days and as much as I want to have eventful weeks like this ahead, I definitely want "good eventful".

Happy weekend everyone. Give a helping hand to someone this weekend, it won't hurt.

My Friend's work

So I have this friend doing her masters in architecture (that's a strong girl if U ask me), but she's doing very well and recently, she finished her project(I think they call it studio work or something like that) and it's really awesome. I was so tripped by the work I had to blog about it.
I think I just found the architect for my house.
It's really beautiful and I hope you feel same.
                                       So, drumroll please..............................

Damilola Eludire, what can I say, I'm so proud of you and you should be proud of yourself too!!!

It's better without a title!

I love THE MESSAGE translation of the Bible. It gives a deeper understanding and profound meaning to whatever you are reading. I read the following verses in KJV and I couldn't help but look for the message translation:

1 Corinthians 1: 27-30

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. "

The message translation says:

"Isn't it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these "nobodies" to expose the hollow pretensions of the "somebodies"?  That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God.  Everything that we have--right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start--comes from God by way of Jesus Christ.  That's why we have the saying, "If you're going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God." "

I guess it will be good to conclude that God really doesn't care about backgrounds or riches or fame or influence or anything for that matter, because if He did, many people will probably not have even had a chance to live at all. God does care about the real personality of a person though, not what the world has forced us to become and if that's true, then it's really awesome.

On the other hand, even if God decides to use the wise, the wealthy and the famous, He doesn't expect any man to boast and think highly of himself, but in everything, give glory to God who gave him the privilege to be who he is.

I think God's fair enough and is very clear about His instructions. Obey, and you live; disobey, and you face the consequences!

Wishlist!!!

Another new week has begun! Service today was wonderful, I had a very great experience today.
The Word of faith, The Gift of faith and The Spirit of faith are three different things that have different capacities with the Spirit of faith being the highest.
So I came across this incredibly hot pair of shoes today and remembered I needed to make a wishlist for 2011. I really love these pair of shoes and I really want it, but I don't know how to! Help!!!
Here's wishing everyone a most beautiful, highly successful and most rewarding week!
