It's better without a title!

I love THE MESSAGE translation of the Bible. It gives a deeper understanding and profound meaning to whatever you are reading. I read the following verses in KJV and I couldn't help but look for the message translation:

1 Corinthians 1: 27-30

"But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. "

The message translation says:

"Isn't it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these "nobodies" to expose the hollow pretensions of the "somebodies"?  That makes it quite clear that none of you can get by with blowing your own horn before God.  Everything that we have--right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start--comes from God by way of Jesus Christ.  That's why we have the saying, "If you're going to blow a horn, blow a trumpet for God." "

I guess it will be good to conclude that God really doesn't care about backgrounds or riches or fame or influence or anything for that matter, because if He did, many people will probably not have even had a chance to live at all. God does care about the real personality of a person though, not what the world has forced us to become and if that's true, then it's really awesome.

On the other hand, even if God decides to use the wise, the wealthy and the famous, He doesn't expect any man to boast and think highly of himself, but in everything, give glory to God who gave him the privilege to be who he is.

I think God's fair enough and is very clear about His instructions. Obey, and you live; disobey, and you face the consequences!

Wishlist!!!

Another new week has begun! Service today was wonderful, I had a very great experience today.
The Word of faith, The Gift of faith and The Spirit of faith are three different things that have different capacities with the Spirit of faith being the highest.
So I came across this incredibly hot pair of shoes today and remembered I needed to make a wishlist for 2011. I really love these pair of shoes and I really want it, but I don't know how to! Help!!!
Here's wishing everyone a most beautiful, highly successful and most rewarding week!

The Walking Mystery

I was going to class this morning and I had to walk. Halfway through the journey, I just thought about the fact that we walk everyday without caring, seeing it as just a simple action, but it struck me that actually, it's not that simple.
How is it that we are able to put all of our body weight on our legs and at the same time, move those legs one after the other and with that simple motion, cover miles everyday. This looks simple, but how come the weight on our legs have not broken those legs or the legs have not at any time given way without recovering?
It just makes me see God in a newer light and actually thank Him deeper for the fact that I can walk and move my legs everyday; and so when I complain about being tired of walking or having pains in my legs, I need to look at those that have legs and can't use them or those that do not even have and thank God for the privilege I have to have functioning legs.
I may never understand the magic behind my walking, but I'm eternally grateful.

2011!!!

2011 is here again and with it comes a lot of goodies and otherwise. The success, pain, joy and laughter, good times and bad, the disappointments and many other things that come with each passing year are here again.
Each day though, marks the first day of the rest of our lives and with each passing moment, we have our future tightly bound to our hands. The mistakes of the past years are always ready to haunt us and the successes of the past years are usually overshadowed by the enormity of what lies ahead.
Many like me have had fears (and maybe still do) of this new year, wondering what this year will hold; but here's the thing, if we can face this year head on, keeping God at the centre of our being and trusting that with Him by our sides, we do not need any other form of light to go into the dark days of this year, then this year is most definetely going to deliver the best to us.
If we ask, what about our weaknesses, God tells us that His grace is sufficient for us and His strength made perfect in our weakness.
All I bellieve we need this year is a complete and total trust in God who knows every day of every year even before we step into it, and all our dreams, goals, aspirations and even resolutions will be sorted out and our fears and anxiety about what the year holds will be as though they never existed.
On this note therefore, I'd like to officially say:
Happy 2011!!!

Happy New 2011

Happy new year. It's gonna be a year of peace all around.
I really hope to change this new year and probably be a better blogger even with the million things I have lined up for d year.
What do I really want this year??? I really do not know yet, but as time goes on, I'll get a list.
